Made using soft red winter wheat instead of the usual rye, Maker’s Mark has garnered fans across the globe for its full-flavoured, easy-to-drink bourbon whiskey, distinguished by its signature red wax.

In this online evening event, host David Miles will guide you through the history of the Kentucky-based spirit and its Maker’s 46 line before showing you how to make the perfect cocktail and recommend the best food to match.

About your instructor:

David is a whisky specialist with Edrington-Beam Suntory and previously worked as a cocktail bartender in London at venues such as 57 Jermyn Street. Passionate about training and education, he believes there is no such thing as “not liking” whisky, you just haven’t found the right whisky yet – or the right way to enjoy it.

What you'll need:

  • A bottle of Maker’s Mark and Maker’s Mark 46
  • Tumbler and highball glass for serves
  • Sherry or Glencairn glass for tasting/nosing
  • Bottled/filtered room temperature water

Ingredients:

  • 20ml fresh orange juice
  • Ginger ale
  • Angostura/Aromatic bitters
  • 1 teaspoon dry brown sugar
  • Orange peel for garnish
