Learn the versatility of Le Creuset Cast Iron by baking decadent cinnamon swirls and watching a demonstration on the ultimate chocolate brownies using the same Cast Iron

Do you have Cast Iron at home or looking to purchase one? Did you know that this versatile piece of Cookware is great not only for casseroles and stews, but also for making breads, cakes and other delightful sweet treats.  Le Creuset's Home Economist Ali Haigh will be showing us how to use a Le Creuset Cast Iron to make delicious cinnamon swirls.

This exclusive 1 hour event will guide you through the process of making your own cinnamon swirls, as well as demonstrating to you how to make the ultimate chocolate brownie in the same Casserole. Not to be missed, it is a great way to learn more about cooking with Cast Iron and inspire some great baking you can impress your family and friends with.

What to expect:

What you’ll need:


  • Le Creuset Cast Iron Casserole– 26cm or 30cm Shallow Casserole, 27cm or 29cm Oval Casserole, 22cm or 24cm Round Casserole
  • Or alternatively any other cast Iron to size or 30cm round cake tin
  • Baking parchment
  • Large mixing bowl
  • 2 Small mixing bowls
  • Small saucepan
  • Fork or small whisk
  • 2 Dessertspoons
  • Scissors
  • Dough scraper (or silicone spatula)
  • Pastry brush
  • Cling film (or clean damp tea towel)
  • Flour to dust
  • Rolling pin
  • Board or plate for serving

Ingredients (please prepare ahead of the class)


  • 125ml Warm milk
  • 100g Unsalted butter (50g melted, 50g room temperature)
  • 1 Egg

Store cupboard

  • 450g Strong white bread flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Caster sugar
  • 14g Easy bake yeast
  • 75g Dark muscovado sugar
  • 150g Dried mixed vine fruits (or a mix of sultanas and raisins)
  • 3 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 100g Icing sugar

Ali loves designing and running cookery courses, developing outstanding products, recipe writing, hospitality training and supporting celebrity chefs. Ali is committed to healthy eating and nutrition, which underpins everything she does. Many people believe they don't have time to cook while others lack the confidence and knowledge required to cook simple healthy meals for themselves, family and friends. Ali wants to change that with her helpful tips and simple, seasonal and delicious recipes.
