If you love embroidery, you'll be enchanted by the world of ribbon embroidery. This timeless technique involves decorative needlework using ribbons to create textured designs on fabric, and it has a rich history that spans centuries and cultures. Its origins likely began in the late 16th century, gaining popularity in 17th-century Europe, particularly in France. By the 18th century, it was known as "rococo silk embroidery" and was especially cherished by the nobility for its intricate detail.
In this workshop you will learn some classic floral stitches using sumptous double faced satin ribbon, you will receive a box of goodies that you can then take home to complete your design. The floral ribbon designs are created on a large 9-inch hoop and stitched into premium Irish Linen.
